We drove all day, first through North Carolina, then Virginia, then West Virginia and into Pennylvania. In North Carolina David pointed out Lake Norman, which he thinks is quite beautiful.
We continued on to Virginia. I am pretty sure that I took this picture at a place where we stopped to get gas and snacks.
In West Virginia we drove over this bridge THE NEW RIVER GORGE BRIDGE
We had supper at PRIMONTE BROS. south of Pittsburgh.
they mostly offer sandwiches PITTSBURGH STYLE meaning the sandwiches have coleslaw and French fries in them.
I requested those items on the side. The place was very loud, but it was Friday night, after all.

We arrived at our lodging fairly late. TOWNPLACE SUITES by MARRIOT, just north of Pittsburgh in Cranberry, PA. We had a very nice suite with a full kitchen. Saturday morning we had breakfast there, included in the price of the room. They offered a LOT of choices. I had a small bowl of oatmeal, a half a bagel, half a banana, a yogurt, a muffin, and a fried egg, also two glasses of orange cranberry juice.
I think we headed out a few minutes after ten, but after driving a few minutes Peggy realized she had left her wedding rings on the bed, so we returned and retrieved them. It was just a few hours drive to Lockport, where they dropped me off before returning the rental car to the Buffalo airport.
I was pretty much a slug the rest of the day, just too tired to do much of anything.
