Anyways, she picked me up around nine a.m. and we headed towards Buffalo. We found the museum easily enough.
We ran into Carrie with a group from her Day program. The museum offers a mix of modern (ugh) and traditional art work. We spent about an hour there, before heading to the Greek Festival.
The Greek Festival was held at the ANNUNCIATION GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH. We had a hard time finding a place to park, but finally settled for a spot in a high rise apartment.
We started out with lunch. I had the SOUVLAKI PLATE. Tender chunks of beef souvlaki on a Greek salad with pita. It was great!!!! (and only one olive to throw out)
here is where I purchased it. lots of Greek baked goods available. Mary Ann bought some cookies. I hit pay
dirt in YiaYia's Attic, purchasing a vintage table cloth, three pieces of colored glass including a "shoe" and a small clear glass item that I liked. Here are the colored glass items.
..............all that for a total of $4.00.
I was disappointed that we did not get to go into the sanctuary. Later on in the day they offer church tours. We peeked through a window and it is magnificent. Also, the Greek Dancing was scheduled for later in the day so we did not get to see that.
In spite of that, I think this is a very nice festival, and would go again.
On the way back to Lockport, we were going down Sheridan towards Millersport Highway so we decided to stop at Paula's Donuts since today is National Donut Day.
Paula's was giving away a free donut with every drink ordered!!!
It was a very nice day.
Yummy! Coming from a Greek that food looks good! Be sure to check out thatpettyphoto.blogspot.ca
